๐ฏ๏ธ Full Moon in Libra Candle Ritual
April 1, 2026 | Moon Shine Spills Ritual Blog
A ritual for releasing imbalance, calling in reciprocity, and celebrating the beauty of what has grown.
The Full Moon is the moment the lunar cycle reaches its peak illumination. What you planted in the dark of the New Moon has grown โ and now, in the Full Moon's generous light, you can finally see it clearly. Not just what has bloomed, but what has become tangled. What has outgrown its container. What is ready, at last, to be released.
And this month, that luminous reckoning arrives in Libra.
Libra, ruled by Venus, is the sign that understands beauty as a spiritual practice. Not beauty as performance or perfection โ but beauty as harmony. As the careful, ongoing work of making things more balanced, more fair, more true. Libra feels the weight of imbalance in the room the moment it enters. It notices where one side of the scale is heavy with giving and the other side has grown quietly, painfully light.
The Full Moon in Libra asks you to look honestly at your relationships โ with others, with your time, with yourself. Not with judgment, but with the clear-eyed tenderness of someone who has finally stopped pretending the scales are even when they are not. This moon does not demand dramatic action. It asks for honesty. For the graceful, Venus-blessed willingness to say: this has been out of balance, and I am ready for something different.
We are in Aries season โ the season of the self, of bold forward movement, of choosing your own becoming. The Full Moon in Libra stretching across this axis is not a contradiction. It is a completion. It asks you to stand fully in yourself and remain open to genuine connection. To release what has asked you to shrink, and to call forward what allows you to expand.
This ritual is an invitation to do both. To let what is unequal fall away with grace. To celebrate what has grown in beauty and reciprocity. And to remember that the most harmonious life is not one without tension โ it is one where you know your own worth well enough to keep adjusting the scales.
You are allowed to want balance. You are allowed to want ease. That is not too much. That is the whole point.
Use whatever tools you already have. Your intention is the magic. (If you'd like a handcrafted altar set or pendant, Moon Shine Spills offers custom orders.)

๐ THE RITUAL
Arrange Your Altar Set
Place your altar tray at the center of your space. Set your three bowls around it โ one for herbs, one for your air element, and one for crystals. Place your intention dish or tray nearby, and arrange your pendant where the candlelight will reach it.
Allow the setup to feel open and considered โ like a table set for something beautiful, where everything has been placed with care and nothing has been forgotten. Libra loves an altar that feels as though it was arranged rather than assembled.
Fill the Herb Bowl
Gather your chosen herbs โ rose, lavender, spearmint, yarrow, lemon verbena, or whatever you have on hand. As you add them to the bowl, breathe in their scent and welcome the energy of clarity, release, and the quiet grace of things returning to balance.
Fill the Air Element Bowl
Place your chosen air element into its bowl โ a feather, a small mirror, a dried flower, a written word, or a slip of incense ash. Hold it for a moment. Feel it reflecting Libra's luminous, perspective-giving wisdom. Invite the energy of clear sight โ the kind that sees both sides without cruelty, that holds the whole picture without losing itself in it.
Fill the Crystal Bowl & Place Larger Crystals
Add your smaller crystals to the bowl. Then take any larger stones and arrange them on and around the altar tray โ letting them hold the space with quiet, stabilizing intention. As you place each one, imagine it already attuned to the balance you are calling in. The kind that does not require you to make yourself smaller to maintain it.
Light Your Incense
Light your chosen incense and let the smoke drift through your space. If you are using an essential oil instead, diffuse it now or place a drop on a cotton pad nearby.
As the scent rises, say aloud or silently:
"I open this space to beauty, to balance, and to the honest, loving light of the Full Moon."
Anoint Your Candle & Yourself
Take your chosen oil and anoint the candle, moving from the base toward the wick to draw energy upward and outward โ releasing what no longer serves, illuminating what remains. Then apply a small amount to your wrists, your heart center, or wherever feels right.
Take a slow breath. Let your shoulders drop. Let your jaw soften.
Hold the candle in your hands (unlit). Visualize yourself standing before a still, mirror-like pool at dusk โ the sky rose and gold above you, the water perfectly calm. See your own reflection looking back. Not the version of you that is always adjusting, always accommodating, always making sure everyone else's side of the scale is full. The version of you that is simply present. Simply whole. Simply enough.
Ask yourself:
- Where have I been giving more than I receive โ and have I been calling that love when it is actually fear?
- What would it feel like to let this relationship, this dynamic, this pattern finally come back into balance?
- What is the most beautiful, honest thing I could do for myself right now?
Say:
"With this Full Moon, I release what has kept me out of balance. I honor what has grown. I call in the reciprocity, the ease, and the beauty I am worthy of โ and I receive it without apology."
Light the Candle
Place the candle on your altar and light it.
Sit quietly with the flame and reflect on:
- What has the last lunar cycle illuminated about what I truly value?
- Where have I been waiting for permission to take up equal space?
- What would genuine balance feel like in my body โ and what is one small way I could move toward it?
Allow answers to rise the way light rises โ gradually, softly, filling in the edges of everything. Libra rewards those who are willing to look at both sides before they decide.
๐ฟ Charge Your Pendant or Talisman
Hold your pendant in both hands. Let the candlelight catch its color โ the blush and lavender and soft gold of Venus at her most luminous.
Say or think:
"I infuse this talisman with Libra's grace and Venus's love. May it remind me that I am worthy of the balance I seek โ that harmony begins within me, and that beauty and truth are not in conflict."
Visualize the pendant absorbing:
- Libra's graceful, clear-eyed wisdom and love of honest beauty
- Venus's warmth, self-worth, and the art of genuine receiving
- The Full Moon's illuminating, releasing, celebratory light
- The quiet, unshakeable knowledge of your own value
Place the pendant beside the candle to finish charging.
โ๏ธ Writing Intentions & Reflection
This Full Moon in Libra is not asking you to have everything perfectly balanced before you begin. It is asking you to be honest about what has been heavy, to release it with grace, and to make space โ real, intentional, beautiful space โ for something more equal to arrive.
Write a Release Statement | Write one clear, open sentence beginning with:
"I am releasingโฆ"
Examples:
- I am releasing the belief that my needs matter less than everyone else's.
- I am releasing the version of connection that required me to disappear.
- I am releasing the weight of giving without receiving, and making space for something reciprocal and real.
Keep it honest. Keep it gentle. Let Libra's clear, Venus-blessed wisdom move through every word.
Journal Prompts | If you feel called to reflect more deeply, explore:
- What relationship or dynamic in my life is most in need of rebalancing โ and what would honesty look like there?
- Where have I confused keeping the peace with losing myself?
- What does beauty, ease, and genuine reciprocity look like for me โ and do I believe I deserve it?
Write freely. Libra energy loves a page that is both honest and graceful.
Blending Both | Journal first, then distill your reflection into one honest statement of release. Think of it as gently setting down something you have been carrying a long time โ not dropping it, not throwing it โ simply, deliberately, placing it down. I see this. I honor what it was. I am ready for something different.
When you are finished, fold the paper away from you, drawing what you are releasing outward and away. Place it on your dish or beneath the candle.
Say:
"I release what is out of balance with gratitude and grace. I make space for beauty, for reciprocity, and for the harmony I am worthy of. I trust Venus to light the way."
๐ Close the Ritual
Allow the candle to burn safely until it goes out on its own, or extinguish it intentionally when you feel complete.
You may keep your intention paper on your altar through the waning cycle โ letting the diminishing moonlight carry what you are releasing gently away, making room for what is coming.
Carry or wear your charged pendant as a reminder that balance is not something you wait for. It is something you choose โ one honest, graceful, Venus-kissed decision at a time.
Take a moment to honor what has grown in you this lunar cycle. The Full Moon sees all of it. And what it sees is beautiful.
